The Revival Tour hits Tempe November 10th
July 21, 2009The second annual folk / punk tour The Revival Tour will stop at The Sets in Tempe on November 10th 2009. This year the Arizona date of the tour will feature Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music, Jim Ward of Sparta, At The Drive-In & Sleepercar, Frank Turner, and Joey Cape of Lagwagon and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
Founded last year by Ragan, The Revival Tour is a series of shows that will see all four artists playing solo sets as well as performing on each others material. Last year Ragan explained:
“All the tours that I’ve done since I’ve been doing this solo stuff have in some way or the other ended up with a bunch of friends onstage by the end of the night, I’ve always loved seeing that and now I’m absolutely loving creating something like that with good friends who think and believe along the same lines.” – Chuck Ragan
While the tour will feature individual sets from each artist, it will be more reminiscent of the folk tradition of involving multiple artist collaborations—and each performer will have guests coming on and off stage in one long uninterrupted set. This year the tour will be backed by musician; Jon Gaunt on Fiddle, Digger Barnes on Stand-Up and Todd Been Pedal Steel with more guest musicians likely.
Tickets go on sale Saturday August 1st at 10:00 PM via Ticketweb.com and after that at Stinkweeds, Hoodlums and all valley Zia Records locations.
