Parkway Drive Announce 2011 Headlining US Tour
December 1, 2010Australian metal giants Parkway Drive have plotted their return to the US with a headlining tour beginning in February to support their critically acclaimed, ARIA award winning (“Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album”) record Deep Blue. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning December 10.
The Parkway Drive tour will be at The Nile Theatre in Mesa on Friday March 11th.
After dominating the metal charts in their home country and building massive momentum performing in front of thousands of fans at last summer’s Vans Warped Tour, Parkway Drive have set their sights on conquering the US metal scene this February when the band hits the road for a US headlining tour with labelmates Set Your Goals and with suport from The Ghost Inside & The Warriors.
Parkway Drive’s third studio album, Deep Blue, which debuted at #2 on Australia’s ARIA chart and #39 on Billboard’s Top 200, was released in June 2010 and has since built steadfast momentum as a result of a groundswell of fan support in the US. Called “never less than utterly crushing” (Alternative Press *4.5/5), Deep Blue “combines the emotional textures of Isis, the brute force of Viking metal and hardcore, and some symphonic elements thrown in for good measure” (Decibel). “Displaying a far greater mastery of dynamics than ever before the band whips, snarls, and charges their way through 13 tracks, every one of them designed to break you” (Outburn *9/10). “Parkway Drive have created a record that isn’t just a landmark album for themselves, it’s a milestone album for modern metal” (Metal Hammer).
With an arsenal of new music locked and loaded for fans across the country the countdown to Parkway Drive’s championed return to the US begins now. See you in the pit!!
