Mimicking Birds Return to Phoenix

The first time Portland, OR’s Mimicking Birds played in Phoenix it was opening for Modest Mouse at their Sold Out Marquee Theatre show this spring. This time they will be coming out on their own on their way to Texas to play at Austin City Limits. They will play at Chyro Arts on September 30th with Small Leaks Sink Ships.

Mimicking Birds started as the solo home recordings of Nate Lacy. Since that start, Mimicking Birds has acquired the additional live existence of Tim Skellenger on supplementary/lead guitar and Aaron Hanson on drums. Their eight-song album will be released by, Isaac Brock’s Glacial Pace label. Brock, Modest Mouse’s frontman, also produced their record.

Little is known contextually about Mimicking Birds — no biography, no discography, just a handful of information preemptively dotting what is sure to be a very solid line in the near future. As for the music… its quality it really does speak for itself.
