Just Announced: Fairy Bones “0% Fun” Release Show – February 23 at Crescent Ballroom
January 18, 2018Fairy Bones, Phoenix’s own brash pop-rockers, will celebrate the release of their sophomore album, 0% Fun at Crescent Ballroom on February 23rd.
They have been named “Best Local Band” by the Phoenix New Times, set out on numerous US tours – including direct-support for Grammy-nominated Highly Suspect, graced the cover of Echo Magazine and College Times, released adventurous music videos – one of which won “Best Music Video” at Phoenix Comicon, and landed opening slots for impressive artists including Marcy Playground, Fuel, Mother Mother, St Lucia, Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas, and Rozwell Kid.
Their debut album, Dramabot (2015), adventurously explored a youthful bands experimentation with instruments and songwriting, but their sophomore album, 0% Fun (2018), sees them settling into their musical identity. What began as a lyrically intimate dissection of personal thoughts and feelings slowly began to echo the same thoughts and feelings felt around the nation in 2017.
Touching on themes of anxiety, depression, and the pressures of maintaining the perfect, Instagram-worthy facade, 0% Fun is a upbeat and often wildly sarcastic take on one woman’s journey through her twenties.
Fairy Bones will celebrate their sophomore effort on February 23rd at Crescent Ballroom with support from their friends in Doll Skin, Bear Ghost and Paper Foxes. This event will be 16+ and tickets start at $12. Tickets go on sale February 17th, available through www.crescentphx.com or www.psykosteve.com.
