LOW TICKET WARNING
STEPHEN CHILTON – The Regrettes – April 23 at Rialto Theatre (Tucson)
“If you follow us you probably know what a huge fan of this band I am. I got to see them at both Treefort and Coachella in the last month, and am very excited to see them headline at Rialto this weekend. Before that last time, I got to see them was all the way back in December when we had them open for Weezer at the Alt-AZ Ugly Sweater show.” 🎟
DAN MICHALEGKO – Pom Pom Squad – April 27 at The Underground
“This is the show for you if you’re into indie rock, grunge, and punk. Their debut album, Death of a Cheerleader, is a blast, full of solid rock and roll jams! I was blown away the first time I heard their cover of ‘Popular'(feat. Matthew Caws of Nada Surf). Go watch that video, and pick up a ticket to this show. If you’re not satisfied with the show, dm me and we can argue about it.” 🎟
SHEA RUCH – Great Good Fine Ok – April 27 at The Rebel Lounge
“Breaking away from my typical sad post-hardcore recommendations – Great Good Fine OK makes the kind of synthpop that I always gravitate towards as summer starts to roll around (it somehow makes the Phoenix heat easier to bear – I don’t know, I didn’t make the rules). Picture it: sunroof open, windows down, driving through Coachella Valley on your way to the California coast, Lucky Me (ft. Great Good Fine OK) blasting. It’s not hard to dream about. With local indie-pop duo Bogan Via opening the show, it’ll be the perfect leave-your-troubles-at-the-door kind of show.” 🎟
CAMRYN VATISTAS – Hey Violet – May 1 at The Rebel Lounge
“When I think of Hey Violet I think of being 18, wearing heels to a concert for the first (and last) time, and promptly falling (twice) in the front row during Hey Violet’s set. Despite the initial humiliation, I had a great time and Hey Violet is forever imprinted in my brain. ‘Hoodie’ and ‘Guys My Age’ scream ‘girly teenage angst’ and I look forward to reliving that on May 1st at Rebel – sans heels.” 🎟
JEFF TAYLOR – King Pari – May 2 at The Rebel Lounge
“I wasn’t familiar with King Pari when they initially approached us about playing a show in Phoenix, but I quickly became a fan this year. The duo put out a great short album called Mary last year. The tunes are groovy – I recommend taking a listen if you’re a fan of Toro Y Moi or Still Woozy. Looking forward to seeing them live with a really fun combination of local openers, Harrison Fjord & Prime Society.” 🎟
MCKENNA FOSDICK – King Pari – May 2 at The Rebel Lounge
“King Pari seems dedicated to making music that emulates the feeling of being at a public pool in the dead of summer with some cheap beer in your backpack and a heart full of dreams. A completely self-produced, recorded, written, and mixed project, their Mary EP is the dose of funk we all need and love.” 🎟
