FRANK TURNER RETURNS TO AZ

May 16, 2012

Frank Turner is returning to Phoenix on Friday September 21st. The British Troubadour and his band The Sleeping Souls will be at The Crescent Ballroom with Larry And His Flask.

I could not be more excited about this show. I have been bringing Frank to Phoenix since 2008 (maybe 2007?). Back then I booked him to play a few times at Modified Arts and Chyro Arts (RIP). His shows have always been some of my personal favorite shows. His Sold Out show last year at Rhythm Room was one of the best shows I have done there. The day of that show was also inspiring because on that day Frank announced his next headlining show in his home town of London would be at the historic Wembley Arena.

Earlier this year I went to England to vist family, and also to go see Frank’s Sold Out show at Wembley. Watching artists like Frank grow is the best part of what I do. In the years I have been working with him I have seen him go from playing in front of 30 people at Modified to opening tours like The Revival Tour and Social Distortion to headlining in front of 12,000 people at an arena.

The most amazing thing about watching Frank’s rise is that it has all happened organically. To quote Frank “Simon Cowell didn’t make a phone call to make this happen.” His growing popularity has happened slowly with word of mouth from his shows. No reviews on hip blogs broke him, no huge label spet tons of money, no flash new media campaign and no TV Talent shows. Just great sing along songs and even better shows.

I have been saying it for years, but trust me, you don’t want to miss this show!

Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday at 10 AM. You can get them here or at Stinkweeds.

Watch a video of Frank et al at Rialto Theatre in Tucson from their tour last year with Social Distortion after the break.

Special trivia, if you look closely at the crowd in the photo above you will see my face.
