SAVES THE DAY Announce New Album 9 & Spring Tour – March 3 at Crescent Ballroom

Saves The Day returned today with “Kerouac & Cassady” – the second single from their highly-anticipated new album 9. “Kerouac & Cassady” is the perfect soundtrack to a Saturday night drive. Each lyric is a callback to a memory from the band’s two decades accumulating memories on tour and even the song’s title is a nod to the beatnik classic On The Road. It’s a propulsive rock anthem that triggers the sort of adrenaline rush that convinces the listener that anything is possible when they walk out their door on a Saturday night. You can listen to the record now on YouTubeSpotify or most of your favorite other streaming sites. Along with the release of “Kerouac & Cassady”, Saves The Day also are excited to announce the second leg of their North American tour running Feb 15 through March 8.

Saves The Day will be releasing 9, their first new album in five years, on October 26th via seminal rock label Equal Vision Recordswill be SavesThe Day’s ninth studio record and contains nine songs that, when listened to together, tells the story of the band from the perspective of its founder, Chris Conley. The album offers this first ever autobiographical look into the band’s history in a way that is as exhaustive as it is poetic and makes the listener a part of the songwriting process. As Conley puts it “This album is the story of Saves The Day and my own personal journey through life, which all unfolded as my relationship with music progressed”. On the surface, chronicles the epic story of a group of kids from New Jersey who realized their dream and became an international sensation. On a deeper level, it shows how Conley “woke up” and became aware of his own consciousness through his relationship with music and the unbelievable adventures it has inspired since he formed the act in 1997.

Click here to pre-order 9 today.

Saves The Day will be at Crescent Ballroom in downtown Phoenix on March 3rd with Remo Drive and Mighty.

Reintroducing The Phoenix Independents Bowl – July 8 at Let It Roll Bowl

Psyko Steve Presents is proud to reintroduce The Phoenix Independents Bowl, an all local bowling tournament comprised of members of Phoenix’s best bands, businesses, and independent minded citizens. The 6th Phoenix Independents Bowl will be held on Sunday, July 8th at Let It Roll Bowl, one of the only independently owned bowling alleys in Arizona.

The Indie Bowl launched in 2008, started by concert promoter Stephen Chilton of Psyko Steve Presents. The event began as a fun get together for local musicians, and has taken place sporadically over the years. The last Indie Bowl was held in 2015, and was billed as “somewhat-annual.” The 6th (now being more realistically billed as “Not-Really-Annual”) Phoenix Independents Bowl will continue to foster the spirit of community that started in that first event a decade ago.

The main goal of the Indie Bowl is bringing together musicians from all corners of the Valley’s music scene into a laid-back and fun setting. “I have always believed that there is more in common with most musicians than they realized. It is too easy for bands to get caught up in their own world and miss what is happening around them. This event is about finding the common spirit,” says Chilton of the event. “It is also a great opportunity to have fun with the staff of venues and businesses in our community that share our love of local music.”

Some of the teams signed up so far include Fairy Bones, Cornish Pasty, Crescent Ballroom, Sundressed, The Rebel Lounge, and of course a Psyko Steve Presents team (wich fully expects to keep their streak of never making the playoffs).

The tournament will feature teams of four competing for fame and glory… or at least some sweet trophies or prizes… or just for local bragging rights. Each team will bowl no less than two games before leaders advance to a playoff format bracket to determine an ultimate champion.

The proceeds of the event will go to benefit Local First Arizona, and help with their goal to make Arizona a better place by supporting locally owned businesses, and building vibrant communities that residents are proud to call home.

“We love the vibe at Indie Bowl. Not only is it fun, but it’s a great coming-together of what Arizona should be proud of – our community of talented musicians, unique business owners, and the people that support them.” says Helene Tack of Local First Arizona, or at least she did in an old version of this press release.

Registration for the Phoenix Independents Bowl has already begun. Visit IndieBowl.com for more information.
