Like everyone else I am very excited about VIVA PHX this weekend. I have wanted to put on a festival like this for years. I am very proud to have been as involved in this as I have been. Here are 5 band I booked to play that I think you should all see.
A few weeks ago I hosted the first Phoenix Rock Lottery at the Crescent Ballroom. On February 9th 18 local musicians meet. We formed 4 bands randomly that morning. Then they had to wright 3 songs + learn a cover in the afternoon. That night they performed those songs at the Crescent Ballroom. This is a video of Bitch Choir performing their one and only show.
BITCH CHOIR is: Jason Roedl (of Mergence), Matthew Noakes (of Black Carl), Jim Adkins (of Jimmy Eat World), David Moroney (of Wooden Indian), and Lindsay Cates (of Pick N Hollar)
This video was filmed and edited by by James Kelley (youtube.com/muchrockness). The Audio was recorded by Andrew Winhold.
Last week I put on the IAMWE CD Release show at Crescent Ballroom. I worked with the greet people at Electric Legend Pictures to make this video spotlighting the band and their show at Crescent. If you have not heard of them it is worth a glance.
For those of you who use Spotify this is a great way to check out some of the music I am bringing to town. I am sure few of you will like everything I am bringing, but there is bound to be something in there you fall in love with. Right now all the songs have a floky vibe. For what ever reason all the shows on my books right now have that vibe.
There are songs form OLD MAN MARKLEY, ROCKY VOTOLATO, THE DROWNING MEN, RIVER CITY EXTENSION, THE FRONT BOTTOMS, CORY BRANAN, AUDRA MAE and JAY BRANNAN.
New feature I want to start here is posting a music video right here everyday for diffrent shows I have coming up.
To start I thought I would start with a new(ish) local band that I have been a big fan off. Bears of Manitou just released this self made video for “Your Story.” I have been ranting for a while that more bands should be working on videos like this so it seemed appropriate to suport this in some small way.
They are playing at the Hard Rock Cafe tonight with SUCRÉ, a new band that features members of Eisley & Mute Math. You can still buy tickets here.
