Surprise The Maine show at The Rebel Lounge

Psyko Steve Presents

8123 is excited to announce the launch of ‘8123 Priority’. They wanted to create a way for fans to get tickets before scalpers or anyone else!

As you know, most bands launch pre-sale tickets with VIP Meet and Greets for their fans. Since this is against 8123’s philosophy, they have stayed away from most pre-sale ticketing.

8123 Priority Tickets is a way for them to get their most loyal fans tickets first and with special offers! When The Maine announce secret shows (Like the show on July 2nd at The Rebel Lounge), 8123 Priority members will be the first to know.

All you have to do is sign up here.

Basically-annual Phoenix Independents Bowl

The Phoenix Independents Bowl is an all local bowling tournament comprised of members of Phoenix’s best bands, businesses, and independent minded citizens. The 7th Phoenix Independents Bowl will be held on Sunday, July 7th at Let It Roll Bowl, one of the only independently owned bowling alleys in Phoenix.

The Indie Bowl launched in 2008, started by concert promoter Psyko Steve Presents. The event began as a fun get together for local musicians, and has taken place sporadically over the years. The last Indie Bowl was held in 2018, and was billed as “Not-Really-Annual.” The 7th (now being more realistically billed as “Basically Annual”) Phoenix Independents Bowl will continue to foster the spirit of community that started in that first event over a decade ago.

The main goal of the Indie Bowl is bringing together musicians from all corners of the Valley’s music scene into a laid-back and fun setting. “I have always believed that there is more in common with most musicians than they realized. It is to easy for bands to get caught up in their own world and miss what is happening around them. This event is about finding the common spirit,” says Chilton of the event.

The proceeds of the event will go to benefit Local First Arizona, and help with their goal to make Arizona a better place by supporting locally owned businesses, and building vibrant communities that residents are proud to call home.

Registration for the Phoenix Independents Bowl has already begun. Visit IndieBowl.com or PsykoSteve.com for more information.

MAKE IT LOUD: Hitting the Airwaves

MAKE IT LOUD is a live panel discussion series on how to make it as a new artist in today’s music industry, hosted by Stephen Chilton and Jeff Taylor of Psyko Steve Presents, featuring a curated lineup of special guests. The guests include industry figures in Arizona’s music business, as well as established musicians on a wide range of topics aimed at helping new artists learn how to navigate an ever-changing music industry.

The next discussion in the MAKE IT LOUD series, “Hitting the Airwaves,” will be a conversation about Arizona radio and the impact it has on local artists. Chilton and Taylor will be joined by guests Mo! (host of The Mo! on 93.3 Alt AZ), Marcus Meng (host of Into The Pit on 98 KUPD), and Dani Cutler (host of The Dani Cutler Show on 93.9 KWSS).

More info on the panel guests:

Mo!: Back in ’94, a mother won tickets to see Batman Forever for her daughter on a radio station. At that moment, the girl realized two things she wanted: a sweet batmobile, and to be a morning show host. Fast forward a few decades, the girl is now the host of the #1 geekiest Morning Show in Phoenix on ALT AZ 93.3, curator of local music segment Homegrown, and a mother of dragons….

Marcus Meng: After a chance encounter with Larry Mac from KUPD, Marcus started interning and eventually co-hosting his shows (Red Radio Underground, Local 98 Rock and Into The Pit) back in 2000. While working his way through the ranks of radio, Marcus began hosting Into The Pit in 2003 and plays a schizophrenic playlist of metal from bands all over the world, and even right here in Phoenix. His 16th year of hosting and producing Into The Pit starts in June.

Dani Cutler: Dani Cutler has been in radio for over 12 years, volunteering with 93.9 FM KWSS Independent Radio. She currently produces and hosts the morning show on weekday mornings, as well as managing marketing and promotions for the station. She has also owned her own digital marketing business for 6 1/2 years.

Future talks at MAKE IT LOUD will include discussions with some of the best minds in the Arizona music industry on booking shows, recording, marketing and social media, touring, management, and working with labels.
